I don't know about the rest of you here, but it bothers me that his thread on warchant is slowly going into page 2.

He didn't always walk the company line over there, hence he wasn't very popular. Them ignoring his death and showing no class shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone over here.

It is sad. I've seen him post on Warchant and have even posted in some threads that Muncie started over there. I think that he ruffled some feathers over there was probably was banned.

I don't think it's fair to point out the differences between our feelings toward Muncie and the way his passing is being treated on Whorechant. He was unique to us... A Nole who loved Marching Bands/Music/Football and was Honest and Respectful. Those very traits probably relegated him to being ignored or not respected by the majority of posters on Dot's playground.

I'm glad we can come together and remember the good things about Muncie, as someone else said, "he wasn't a troll, he was a valued poster".

I'm not very smart but I do think this thread is one of the best I've ever read here and proves to me that this Board still has a heart and soul. Too bad that Muncie isn't around to share this reawakening.

Well these are interesting points and depending on your view of the afterlife perhaps he is aware of all the posters here and their universal respect and sadness upon hearing of his passing.

It does give me hope that we Gators and at least some of the other team fans who post on here can do the right thing.

I didn't read his obituary, was their any wish by the family for donations to a music fund, etc.? If so, we should find a way to chip in via Paypal, or something similar, as a group. If everyone on this thread chipped in say $10 or $20 per, it would be a sizeable total. I think Muncie would be stunned to think us bunch of drunken fools from the arch-enemy will do such a thing in his honor.

Someone posted this nice picture in the comments section of the on-line obit. It's Muncie getting tossed into the pool by his students. I don't doubt for a second that he was an entertaining teacher and his students always had fun.

Hopefully they let him take his cell out of his pocket before they threw him in...

The uncropped pic shows there was no need for worry...look at the age of the cars. If they had cells back then, the brick would've never fit in the pocket :-)

Muncie will be missed. We used to go back and forth about band and music since I am a former Pride of the Sunshine alumni. We tried to exchange music from my playing days and his band at Ball State. Tried as I might, he could not figure out how to convert a CD into an MP3. This was early to mid 2000's. We had some private conversations about FSU not bringing their marching band to the Emerald Nuts bowl and that legitimately hurt him. I think most everyone here teased him, which he expected, but he couldn't believe the contributions he made to their band program (which were pretty big) was going to help hire a high school band to take their place. He was a musical genius, and last time we talked, which has to be at least a year or 2 ago, I was going to try and drive up there for a concert of his.

I took his passing hard when I first heard. I've been meaning to contact him again, but selfishly let life prevent me from doing as such. R.I.P, Muncie.

I remember him ranting about that on the old board here. He was pissed at TKW. It was 2006.

Yeah, he got dumped on by everyone for the marching band talk, but I understood his strife.

I like the idea of finding collecting donations to donate to a musical cause in his name. Has anyone been able to contact his family yet?

One of the more humorous exchanges we had with MuncieNole on the GSMB involved this on-field incident in 2008 when the Marching Chiefs tuba players tumbled on a slippery field. You would have thought that he was the one who fell!

To me, this clip best represents some of the good-spirited kidding and discussions that we had over the years about the rival bands and teams. Miss you MuniceNole.

Love this, even more so since I saw it happen live. I'm not sure how many times this was pinned on one of Muncie's posts- I'm certainly guilty of doing it at least once or twice.

I agree with this. I have reached out to a number of people who knew him and there hasn't been much response. So I am personally letting it be for now. Until we find out more.

I agree but the idea got me thinking of what could be done:

Send money to FSU band - Probably not what we would want to do but would be nice.

Send money to UF band - I would like this but question if Muncie Nole would appreciate the effort to narrow the gap.

Send money to the HS in Muncie - Probably good for both, but difficult.

If we knew what got him in the end it might be a good idea. We don't so this is also out.

Perhaps it is best to allow our feelings and this thread be the way that we indicate our respect.

I am amazed at the outpouring of respect for Muncie, and I think he deserves every bit of it. I enjoyed his posts here, and the banter that went with it. He got it handed to him a few times, but he held his own very well, and was more than capable of returning fire with a clever zinger of his own.

For a vulcan you talk about your feelings a lot.

Mods I think that if you leave this open too long it will eventually degenerate. You should maybe consider locking it down and putting it in the HOF or something.
