Easley was my favorite player

Postby unofficialgator » Fri Oct 04, 2013 3:15 pm

His tenacity, effort, personality, camaraderie along with his obvious high level of skill will all be missed dearly by me. Unlike most Gator fans (who fell in love with the fun n gun era, I like defense more then offense, alot more) He's my favorite player on the team and it sucks to see him lose the rest of the season. Hopefully his Powell wins the SEC for his brother.

Speaking of Ends, how much sacks does Fowler have this season? The guy seems to live in the backfield.

He was my favorite to watch too. There are plenty of electric guys on that defense to make up for his absence. I am giddy that we get at least 3 years of VH3. That guy is one of the best corners in the country right now.

Florida (1987-90), Four-year Letter- winner at ILB who started every game his junior and senior seasons on a defense that was among the nation’s top five in total defense in both 1989 and 1990. Led the 1990 team in tackles. Named to the All-SEC Freshman team in 1987 and was an SEC Academic Honor Roll selection in 1990.
Captain on 1990 UF team (Steve Spurrier’s first Gator team) which fin- ished tied for first in the SEC standings.
5'-7" terror at LB.

I think Fowler has 3 sacks which ties him with a bevy of players for 3rd in the SEC.

Yup. Son of Coach Gerald Odom, coach of the Merritt Island High School Mustangs. He coached em to state titles in 72, 78 and 79. It's my high school. I remember seeing Jerry's picture among many others in the weight room. He was was before my time, but gotta love the legacy he left.

Can't we get a used car salesman to convince Easley that it's best
to return to Florida one more year ?

That was the 90s.. and it was Jason. Jerry was a LB. Pretty sure not related.

Merritt Island boy, if I remember.

Scot Brantley was a bad dude, too.

Seriously of all of the injuries this year that one depressed me the most but may have freed me a little from the burden of expectations for this crew. If we played in the big 12 or ACC this would still be a NC level team but now that I'm not as tense when these games kick off. I can kindof just enjoy the game you know?
