Andrew Wiggins Picks Kansas

Postby rogdochar » Tue May 14, 2013 11:59 pm

In a publicity-shunned surrounding, Canadian basketball top recruit
announced his choice to go to Kansas. Coach Bill Self is suppose to
be a marvel at developing players. He'll have just the 9 months that
Wiggins will be in college, his freshman basketball season.

Wiggins' 2013-14 team will be saturated with freshmen, required to
perform right away. Article : FSU was too needy; that meant Wiggins
would carry the too much load. And UK was too cluttered with stars.

Yep, and we have just the incoming freshman (Walker) to make that so.

Kansas' and Kentucky's squads next year are insane. I think we stand a great chance to contend with them though seeing how we have a great group of upperclassmen returning as well. Should be a hell of a year.

Really glad Kentucky didn't get him.

We're still going to see him on Dec. 10....which is probably good, because i'll be surprised to see his group gelling by then.

Hopefully we won't have to see him again until the championship game if either of us get there. By then, who knows how that team will be playing.

We'll definitely see how much slack the UK fans are going to give Cal this year. I can only imagine what they'll say if they don't win a NC with that group. Then again, they may only care about recruiting classes...after all, Tubby won a NC with them and they ran him out of town on a rail. So if that's all they truly care about, then Cal's their guy.

That worked out well for us, although it would have been fun to see Wiggins try to save the Noles from obscurity.

Slevin must be relieved. Remember his hysterical posts about UK possibly getting this overrated kid? I could picture him screaming at his computer screen.

Next year's crop of Kentucky ballers are scary. Quite possibly the best recruiting class in NCAA basketball history.

The truly impressive part about that class is, at least 5 NBA GMs have admitted that their franchise could not afford to sign all of those players out of high school. They have no idea where all of that UK money is coming from! :D

They get it from State-supported Public Service Commercials by UK
athletes (BB players) advising kids to "stay in school, graduate".
