QB Instructor Wars (Tebow thread)

Postby Class of '78 » Wed Apr 17, 2013 9:56 pm

I've now seen it all. The latest out of Jetsville finds Tebow's new mentor, Steve Clarkson, taking shots at the Jets and Sanchez, only a couple days after Sanchez's own tutor, Jeff Garcia, took shots at, well, the Jets and Tebow.

At least they both agree: The Jets are idiots. But even larger is that you've now got private QB tutors blasting an NFL team. WHAT?!? Welcome to Jetsville.

"I think he was purposefully sent to New York," said Clarkson, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "From the standpoint: You send him to a situation where you have instability with your coach -- you don't know if he's coming or going. You have a fragile-minded Mark Sanchez at quarterback. You stick Tim Tebow in there and you kill two birds with one stone. So if you're Denver, you've got to be thinking, 'We send him to New York, we basically kill an opponent and, at the same time, Tim Tebow doesn't come back to bite us in the proverbial butt, if you will, because he's not going to make it out of there."

How do the people that support Tebow not realize that going off on these stupid public rants only result in embarrassing him further? They just reboot the criticism all over again.

Everyone involved just needs to STFU and let it play out. If Tebow wants to talk, then let him speak on his own behalf.

Do you think he is too nice to tell people to keep their mouth shut about him? I seem to think so. I bet he thinks they have a right to express their opinion and 'I do not own them'.

Good luck with that. It's Tebow, the most polarizing player in the NFL, playing in New York and with 10,000 cameras and microphones there to record his every movement, as if it's an NFL reality TV show. This situation is so sadly effed up that it feels like a cancer patient winding down to his final days.

I bet Tebow is gone from New York before the dust settles from the NFL Draft.

All "backtalk" always comes from some soul other than Tebow's.
I understand this QB-coach sees firsthand Tebow's work ethic and
his desire to lead a team to victories. Thus, he gets riled by the
despicable treatment Tim has gotten that is only anti-encouraging -
some way to develop your young QB (Jets hired him onto their team).
No beginning QB that does all that's asked of him has ever had the
NFL "community" want that QB ejected by his 2nd year ??

There are 60+ NFL backup QBs, most being around longer than Tim,
without significantly contributing to their employer's improvement.
Nobody is "outcrying" that any of them be drummed out of the NFL
or sent to the CFL. What's the hateful drive-force here ?? If this
were typical treatment given to the backup QBs I've pointed to,
then it is what it is. But not one of 60+ backup QBs has endured
such maltreatment. ??..And Tebow has contributed more than they.

+ Infinity!

The circus will follow him everywhere. It's no wonder no one wants him. And the fans keep perpetuating it. If anyone wasn't sick of it 2 years ago, or when he was in college, they damn sure must be getting sick of it now.

I love the guy but everyone needs to give it a rest!

I wonder just who Steve Clarkson is at least I had heard of Garcia. I would bet that Tebow is not going to tell them to shut up but his agent probably should.

If folks or players are afraid of the publicity they must have weak minds.

Tebow will end up in NE with Beli-cheat when all is said and done.

Well as a QB-coach back-pedalling is something he does 'examplify'.

Agreed. I'm not sure about this QB guru. Also if Tebow would verbally stand up for himself occasionally as a QB you wouldn't have all these folks on the sidelines chiming on on Tim. Now people just pile on and Tebow says nothing nor does his agent because they know Tebow will just take it. I hope Tim has improved on his footwork and mechanics. We shall see. if he gets a chance that is.

The only Tebow news I'm interested in is if he lost that ridiculous 15 extra pounds the Jets had him pack on.

That added weight made Tebow look slower, sluggish and lethargic on the few chances he did get to make plays.

A sad observation : Media will never vacate the Tebow hoots until
some more vulnerable young one that they can rip up shows up ...
that one will have to be overtly religious or outspoken on top morals.
That's sad ... for the target and this nation of observers.

His backpedal is in good form.

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/4/18/4 ... n-jets-nfl

Former NFL quarterbacks Steve Young and Jim Zorn came down to visit Tebow as he worked with the Arizona pair. Gile said Young's reaction says it all.

"Steve Young's mouth was hitting the floor," Gile said. "'Wow, you got it!' is what he said exactly."

Good to know about Tim's improvement. But only if Tebow gets a real chance at QB tis year. I have wondered all along why hasn't Tebow been working with fine lefty NFL QB's like Steve Young, Jim Zorn and Mark Brunell? They understand Tim's struggles and mechanical flaws and they could help him with it more than any little known QB guru ever could.

The coach is Dennis Gile.

I could not find a Devin Gile who played in the NFL.
