UGa Red/Black Spring-Game Excellent ?

Postby rogdochar » Tue Apr 09, 2013 6:56 pm

I watched "patches" of it - scoping out the hated competition.
Wow! The entire process was excellent. It was like watching a regular
season game :

1)- Ga has #1 SEC QB who has "hogged" all past playing time.
2)- Ga has 2 no real-experienced QBs outdo Driskel.
3)- This has to be due to the overall program: better mix of plays,
better timings, better catching WRs (even when tightly covered),
"perfect" over shoulder drop-in passes(by 3 QBs), good OL blocking.

Passes were 20,30,40 yds. In less than half-worth of playing time
Murray was 11/15, 165 yds, 2 TDs. The 2 backups outdid our starter ?
Can this be much better overall coaching and implemented program ?
Our face-off in Jax vs UGa will be testimony to it all.

4)- HC Richt spent 3rd Q in broadcast booth. He was composed and
confident - pleased overlooking his domain. He will have a superb
offensive team and a decent enuf D. UGa will stay in the top 10, 'til
they earn their way into the top-5.

5)- I saw a well guided, smart, aware, Program, under precise control.
Reminded me of SOS Spring-Games.

Please, someone stack some evidence saying our UF Program is on a
par with UGa or USCe or Bama or LSU. I know it is just spring practice
but it is that for every SEC team. :deadhorse:

If we beat Georgia it will be due to Defense and running game most likley.

It has to do with us recruiting H backs who can throw a little instead of QBs who are QBs.

I'd say their WMD are overrated just like their coach.

Players all happy, jabbering; all the coaches celebrating Red/Black.
Didn't see the Orange & Blue .. any joyful players, celebrating coaches? :(

4th year senior QB playing in a system that has been in place at UGA for 10+ years. The OC has been there the whole time, as well. Makes a huge difference when your squad isn't having to play for a new coach/system every year or two.

Their offense will be lights out this year. Their defense will be a huge question mark. What that means remains to be seen, but I haven't seen anyone win the SEC in the past decade with just offense other than Cam Newton and his cast of characters.

I have a feeling Murray will be on his back quite bit in Jax and we all know that means INTs galore. Bring on the Dwags!

Umm Cam had Nick Farley... Who was the SECs most dominant DT and IMO the best player on the field when they stopped oregons high powered O in the chip game. They won with D

UGA will have a good offense until they run into really good defenses. They lost a lot of guys off their D from last year didn't they? Of course their offense looks good going against a D with little experience. Spring games are made to look good. It's all part of pumping up the team and fan base.

They won THAT game with D. They won the SEC because no one could stop Cam. Take him away from that team and they are .500 in the conference and playing a bowl game in Memphis.

I was at the UGA "G-day" game with my UGA wife and it was a typical spring game, lots of players and not much from the stars. Behind Murray is nothing just like us. Murray is still a midget who has sucked basically in all his games vs us. UGA has won the last 2 years for one and one reason only and his name is not Murray but Jarvis Jones and he will be playing in the NFL next year and it will back to normal in Jacksonville.

They lost a lot on both sides of the ball. Last year they had a veteran team, as much talent as anyone in the country and a cake schedule and couldn't win the SEC. They can look happy during their spring game all they want, but next year they won't have the NFL defense to make up for the 3 INTs that they'll throw against us.

All I know is that if Muschamp doesn't beat Georgia this year,he's going to be taking some heat.

Muschamp wants to pound it on the ground and control the ball and field position with good special teams and then DEFENSE. Has he ever been around a great down the field passing offense? His coaching and schemes can win but it won't be like the fun and gun, just more like the run and run. I think he realizes our QB play is average at best and we have some good backs to carry the load.

Our pass game might be better with some WR's who can consistently and finally get open, and with RB's who can catch to help out. However, we won't be much of a downfield threat since that's not our current offensive skill set. And, Driskel will continue to struggle since his decisions and hesitancy don't generate much confidence that he can consistently find open (if they are) receivers. The pass rush in the Spring Scrimmage would have consistently buried him if he did'nt have a red jersey.

I wouldnt put too much stock in the G-day game, all teams are world beaters in the spring. Doesnt matter who UGA lost on defense, as long as UF rolls number 6 out there in Jax. I have a lot of confidence that Driskel will deliver another UGA win.

You and Law ought to just take the train to Vermont and make it all legal. You could put your Snuggies on and cuddle up on the couch most nights. He's compiled a lowlight DVD of our 11-2 season that you would just adore.

Both teams have plenty of question marks. Call me crazy, but maybe we should watch teams play an actual game before crowning them. The OP deserves to be beaten with a stick for gushing over a bunch of leghumpers.

I agree with "The RH Factor's" post in that Coach WM will get some heat if our guys lose to UGA this year.

I want Muschamp fired if he doesn't beat UGA this year, even if we win the NC.

Was it necessary to use the words UGA and excellent in the same threat title?
