Who would you want to take last shot?
Personally, I'd rather see Murphy, Prather, or even Frazier taking the last shot. These are our high percentage shooters, why are they not taking the shot?

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
I would rather Kurtz take the last shot than Boynton. Boynton is the absolute last player I want taking the shot. I would prob prefer Rosario taking it to the rim hard or Frazier if it was a 3. Why the worst shooter on the floor continues to take the last shot is a poor coaching decision IMO.

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
If a 3-point shot is needed all our players know the %-probability stats
of their teammates... i.e. = Frazier best %, Murphy next ... no one
else should be geared to take the shot. The least on the list would
have to be Boynton, who takes 80% of those shots.
So, scheming to win doesn't come into 'play' ... so the coaching of
Donovan doesn't come into 'play' either. So, who or what are we
rooting for ? = some kind of betrayal ? Have good instructions and
follow them good, if you're gonna be a good team.

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
We lack a true "scorer" and playmaker that can hit a shot when needed or manufacture points by driving to the basket.
This is probably the biggest problem as it ties directly to our close end of game issues. We have no closer.

I'm just baffled we rely on layups and teardrops rather than just power strong to the rim and dunk, pick up the foul. Most would say this type of scoring is indicative of someone afraid of shooting foul shots.

See that's the thing I'm not so sure about. I think we have guys that can hit those shots, but boynton always tries to do it himself.

I'm going with who has the hot hand. That would exclude Boyton

We do? Where? The whole selfless team cuts both ways. Unless they are crushing a team by 15+, they lack a true goto guy.

I'd want Pistol Pete to take the last shot. If I can't chose him then I'd like to see young inside with a dunk or get fouled.

Young is awful offensively. He was weak in those two misses vs a back up with 4 fouls. And he's horrible at the line. Young is NOT who I want taking the last shot.

I guess more than anything I'd like to see more inside game from this team. get the bigs (not that we have many) down low.
Are you saying you'd want us to throw up 3's and hope they go in? That hasn't worked. Tough question actually.

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
I think they've been trying to go inside but we lack the muscle to really make a difference. It seems like the team has been taking less three's of late. Maybe Billy saw the flaws and is trying to correct them. IDK. But Young is definitely not the answer.

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
The Madness answer really is inside, whether we can successfully
operate there or not. It's gonna be back door plays, drive & dish,
put-back points, emphatic dunks and earned foul shots. It's madness
not to use the season to prepare for such a march of Madness.

1) Murphy
2)Prather drive

It would be really nice to see him take more mid-range jumpers like he did yesterday when he has a smaller defender on him. I get the fact that you want to back the smaller guy down but before the double team comes you get a pretty good look at a lil fader or a jumper over the small guy. It seems the only time he actually "shoots" is on uncontested 3's which really is a crime given his size and stroke. But hey, what do I know

Re: Who would you want to take last shot?
Every situation is different. It comes down to what the other team will take away and who they have on the floor. You want to take the best high percentage shot available and hopefully that shot goes to your best shooter. You don't always get the shot you'd like and even at that it's usually a low percentage play that fails more than it succeeds.
Having said that, I don't think any situation is different for Boynton. But that can be looked at as a good thing too. He's doesn't get rattled in high or low moments. He just hasn't been able to knock it down as of late.
I know people hated him, but how clutch does Ervin Walker look now?
