Emmert says no settlement for UM; Cristobal update;

Here's a synposis of the UM/NCAA story today: The NCAA says it acted improperly in the UM case, but the case will go forward to the infractions committee and the NCAA will not settle with UM as it did in the Penn State case, where the case did not go to infractions. That's disappointing news to UM, with multiple UM people saying the school had hoped for a quick settlement to put this behind them.

The downside is this could take many more months unless the process is somehow expedited, which would be very unusual. While 20 percent of the information against UM has been thrown out, NCAA president Mark Emmert said there's still plenty of evidence to go forward with this case.

On another note, Mario Cristobal is back in Alabama today, and ESPN and CBS reported that he's going to take the job as offensive line coach on Nick Saban's staff. UM hadn't been told as of 2:30 p.m.. And no, UM isn't happy about him bolting after less than two months on the job, though he is getting a big pay raise.

All these. "Gee, I hope they just drop everything..", or, "...I wish the NCAA would hurry up..." is remindful of FSU and UF both having long waits for Infraction Committee hearings.

In the FSU case, it was a position that, "Bobby Bowden or his people wouldn't do anything bad like that.." and in the UF case, it was, "..Pell did what? Hell, everybody does it, we just got caught.."

Miami is going to get the axe with God's Own Thunder coming down. Bank on it.
