Lady Gators take down the Gym Dogs
Glad to see that our #1 ranked gymnastics team took down the Gym Dogs in their own dog house. What's more impressive is that they sold out Stegeman Coliseum (9,971) for that match, but can't fill it for men's hoops. Must be an embarrassment to Mark Fox and his basketball team.
They take their gymnastics seriously up there. Back in 2009 we went to Athens for my son's fraternity Parent's Weekend, and the sports highlight of the weekend (they try to schedule Parent's Weekend in conjunction with a UGA sporting event) was their girls beating UF in gymnastics. That place was packed (it was a dark cavernous arena then, I understand that they've renovated it since), and, of course, being one of the few Gators there, I was not happy. Glad to see our girls get revenge.
I do believe our girls get about 6,000 for matches in the O'Dome. Given that they're ranked #1, I sure hope our fans can add to that number in future matches this season.

I believe at a match sometime in the last couple weeks we did get something like 8500 in for our girls. Can't remember who that was against though.

Why don't these huge-thighed, max glute-max ladies show up in
our Olympics, instead of those teenie high-fly flutterby-butterflies
we see every 4 years ?

Those flutterby-butterflies are better, but most are well below college age. By the time they're 18-22, they've become a bit larger. Gators have a freshman, Bridget Sloan, who won the overall at Georgia this weekend and is a two-time Olympian (at 16 and 20), won the World Championships in 2009 as a flutterby-butterfly and is now the first All-Around World Champion since the 1930's to perform collegiately.

For Matt... Not the photo you were looking for, but here you go:

Don't want to start one of those educational .jpg threads, but how do I get that photo to fit in the column and not overextend?

You can't unless you resize it yourself or find a smaller pic. This is the Sun, we can't afford all those fancy bells and whistles like auto-resizing. We ain't got no time that.

I would say flexibility is a given.
Flexible enough to do you?
I think NOT!

In the bedroom with "Matt" ... any of those girls would flip out ....
... and they set a high-bar not a low-bar.

I saw the ladies beat I think Auburn a little time ago. We should take all the ladies (and men's) sports seriously especially since the ladies are generally SEC or NCAA championship caliper teams. If I lived in Gville I would get a pass and go a lot for minor sports that don't cost more than my budget.
I am a "Vulcan" and try hard to keep things logical and without emotion. However as a "Vulcan" I have a highly emotional reaction mode for special occasions.

More bang for the buck... less headaches, less traffic, less $$$... kids love the baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball, tennis, etc. because they wander the crowd/concourses with their friends... One of the big benefits of living in Gainesville

The best you can do is "right click" and "open in a new tab" to see the whole picture.
