UGA DC Grantham to New Orleans?
http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/college/ ... nts/nWJDZ/
Signed a 3-year $825K/year contract last year w/ UGA. Looks like he's gone. There's also two other articles: UGA's new signees react to the loss of DC...and....Who is going to replace him?

The story about the signees reaction is good. One of the mother's is not happy that they waited to let them know:
Whether Todd Grantham remains Georgia’s defensive coordinator or not, Davin Bellamy is going to remain with the Bulldogs. He has no choice about that.
But it’s clear that Bellamy’s mother, Bridgett Bellamy, is not very happy about the events of the last 48 hours. Ms. Bellamy said she was assured Tuesday night and again Wednesday morning (National Signing Day) that Grantham would be Davin’s position coach at UGA.
However, Grantham was in New Orleans on Thursday interviewing for the Saints’ defensive coordinator’s position. Asked Thursday if she was unhappy with that development, Ms. Bellamy paused and chose her words carefully.
“Hmmm, I have thoughts about it but for the protection of my son I’m going to say no comment,” she said. “Right now I’m in mother’s mode and I’m just going to say no comment.”

I love reading this.
Reporter "What do you think about your team's execution?". John McKay "I'm all for it".

Flying to a job interview less than 24 hours after securing 17 year old kids' signatures. Stay classy Dwags!

For full enjoyment, go to Volnation recruiting and check Davin Bellamy. Davin and his Mom were questioning Grantham right up until he signed the LOI. whether Grantham goes or stays, you know he wasn't candid with the recruits.

Re: UGA DC Grantham to New Orleans?
Let's see, get your recruits to sign on NSD and then announce the day after you're interviewing with the NO Saints, or the Eagles, or whoever comes along. I know players sign their LOI agreement and that it's about the school, not the assistant coaches, but it might piss them off and feel somewhat blindsided the day after they committed.
However, if the HC leaves, then maybe the players can select another school without penalty according to NCAA rules, if I'm not mistaken, but not assistant coaches. GA should always have good coaches, but it's the principle of the thing.

It was just a coincidence.
There ought to be a rule allowing players to go elsewhere when something like this happens.
Grantham might be interviewing so he can get more $$$ at UGA.

For "his" recruits, it's gotta be the rug pulled out 'cause the
coach that "sells'-you is your new protector-guide at a humongous
new "test-you" environment. Good thing UGa provides new recruits
with "make-up sex", since they've already been Athens screwed.
Think on this :
If the LOI has status like a contract then rule should be full disclosure
or kid's free to go elsewhere too.(I know .. if a late-date suitable
is open). To say it's only an assistant coach is like saying : "Oh yeah,
this house has termites, but they're only in the end den's structure.
"course the recruits already agree to go to a "shack-for-brains".

By the way, he "withdrew" his name:

On Thursday, the Saints interviewed Todd Grantham for the position of defensive coordinator. On Friday, the current Georgia defensive coordinator opted to withdraw his name from the process.
Or in other words Grantham was told he wouldn’t get the job.

If only his father had withdrawn.
