The Legend of Dan Kendra
Seems like yesterday. This is a good read on how recruiting, and careers, don't always go as expected.

Just finished. Outstanding read, even for an old Gator. Wondered what had happend to the guy. Go figure. His body breaks down in the NFL, so what does he do? Of course, he becomes a Navy SEAL. Good stuff, Maillot.

I have reservations about using the Tebow name, but this guy was as hyped as hyped could be back then coming out of High School. He also was a physical guy for a QB, but unlike TT, no one seemed to think that was an issue.

If my recollection is correct, the top two QB recruits in the country that year were Dan Kendra and Bobby Sabelhaus. They were neck and neck. Kendra was considered the better athlete and runner, Sabelhaus the better pure passer.
I think Brock Huard was ranked 3rd. Oh yeah, some kid named Tom Brady was in that same class.
Alex.

Yeah, there have been a surprisingly large number of "top QBs" that were flops.

Yeah, he quit BUDS so he never became a SEAL.
