Gators' BB defense

Postby guardian » Tue Feb 05, 2013 2:29 pm

I've heard/read that UF has the second best opponent scoring numbers in the NCAA and got to wondering who is first.

Here is a link to a site that provides more data than most digit heads require.

Wow, 18-2...that's impressive. Would love to see them get their auto bid and see what they could do in March.

The Lumberjacks (Steven F. Austin) is #2 in ESPNs BPI rating. We're #1 and Indiana's #3.

That was brutally ugly. Just the kind of game Donovan needed to get the kids' attention. We should be good to go now.

There's a lot of truth to that... for the life of me, never understood why that is... what bothers me, previous 2 weeks #1's go down to good teams, UF gets crushed to an unranked team... which equates to UF losing to a big least team in football... no excuse for that.

I thought the same thing during the 2nd half of last nights game. It was very depressing to watch.
However, BB and FB are totally different. This loss will actually help us as the season moves along. It identifies our weaknesses so we can focus on improving in those areas and humiliates, and hopefully motivates the team, prior to when it really counts.

30 points spread over 21 = will only drop to No. 5.

The #2 in this thread was about Florida being #2 in points given up, not the polls.

I was talking about scoring defense. Do the math. We'll move to 52.4 ppg, which in the absence of teams behind us improving their average, will put us at no worse than No. 5.
