i was thinking anywhere from 2-4.... i think we're playing the best basketball of anyone in the country right now- including Michigan. They're good, but i think our defense, experience and depth (esp. once we get Prather back) is unstoppable.

Re: NCAA Basketball Rankings
Michigan and Kansas will be 1-2 although it should be the other way around. As #7/#8 we will jump Arizona and Louisville, but the question is do we jump #1 Duke who lost (now two losses, one an embarrassment but they have bigger wins than us) and #3 Syracuse who lost (now two losses).
We were ahead of Indiana in one, but not the other. That probably will not change (they beat Mich St this week, we beat no one worthwhile... but very impressively).
I will change my #3-#4 prediction from above. We pass Syracuse, but not Duke and we will be #4/#5.

First one's out, but not one of the official 2.
The ESPN Power Poll has us #3.

I still don't see how we could be ranked behind Indiana, even if it is by just 1 point.

That's where preseason polls (IU #1) help. Coaches usually don't drop someone if they don't lose. Last week, they were #7, we were #8. We crushed a pair of puppies, they beat #13 Mich State yesterday.
Look for us to stay ahead of them in the AP.
It really doesn't matter anyway.

Big 10 Bias, to be sure.
Also, they have a "star player" with "name recognition" in Zeller.
And...yeah I got nothing else.
They lost to Wisky by 5 at home. We beat Wisky at home by...wait for it...18.

#5 is solid enough for me.
If we played the upper echelon teams I think we'd get a rude
awakening, but we would win and we'd start increasing our
winning margin as we learned. Coach Donovan would see to that.

AP... We got 1 #1 vote
Coaches... We got 1 #1 vote
That's two people besides me that feel we have the best team in the country.

Personally I'm fine with where we are and would be fine if we didn't move up much from here. Too much potential for letdown comes with a #1 ranking. I can remember numerous occasions where we hit #1 and promptly lose the very next game.

Re: NCAA Basketball Rankings
These polls mean NOTHING at this point in the season. Win the regular season and make it to the SECCG and we will be a no. 1 seed. That's what matters.
