Interesting Comment from Alex Collins on scUM Visit
Well, regardless of where he ends up, it would seem that he is at least taking a practical approach to his recruitment and considering all of the variables.
He also mentioned that the departure of the scUM O-coordinator did not worry him, he was "used to" coaches leaving by now.
Collins has admitted that the future sanctions Miami will be under will play a role in his final decision. Collins says the situation of future sanctions was never addressed by the Miami coaching staff over the weekend.
"They didn't mention it and I'm still waiting on the sanctions to come out," Collins said.
He also mentioned that the departure of the scUM O-coordinator did not worry him, he was "used to" coaches leaving by now.

If he wants to play for a Championship, Miami is not the place to go. In addition to the sanctions, they have a subpar recruting class again this year. Championships our built on consecutive successfull recruiting classes and Miami has not been able to accomplish that.
ESPN has their class at #23 last year not in top 25.
Rivals #56 Last year somehow #9
They only have Five 4*'s and Seven 3*'s. Not one WR yet.

There seems to be so much smoke surrounding Miami and what the NCAA sanctions might be. Their recruiting has to suffer unless South Beach is too much to pass up.
I wonder if any of their recruits would consider switching to UF if they can qualify or if we need them...like any of the DT, DE, CB variety who are good people and will fit into team chemistry?
Any thoughts?

Can't speak for our coaches, but they really do not have a ton of talent in their recruiting class (at least on paper). I am not sure there is a whole lot there any other school, including UF would want to have??

Dude is a beast. Apparently has only been playing since his Junior year and is already a 5* on Scout.

This. Everyone seems to want a true power running game, but neither of our committed backs are really power backs. Collins would add a whole different element of physicality.

This tape would be like pornography for all those posters who have constantly complained about our “smurf” backs.

South beach is too expensive for college students when Shapiro isn't picking up the tab.

Just saw that he's leaning elsewhere, WDWHA.

Would love to see him here. Hopefully he realizes what a waste playing for Miami is.

I like the TD at 0:40 where he turns to hit the DB in the endzone, just because.
It's hard to believe he has only played for 2 years. He seems pretty polished. He can make people miss when he wants but really seems to like running them down.
I think Taylor and Lane and many other pro style backs in high school that are being taught to not run like a power runner. It's to save on wear and tear and not take unnecessary punishment. Collins runs with abandon and I think one of the reasons is because he hasn't been trained to avoid the unnecessary damage. Sure that play at 0:40 did get me amped up but that is being trained out of elite kids from pop warner. IF you've only been playing 2 years its tough to get that coached out of you.
I've seen Taylor enough times in person to know that he has the strength needed for a pro style offense. But obviously I think Collins is more of Muschamp wants. I think Rivals has Greg Bryant as a 5 star running back, and he's actually much bigger then Collins but he doesn't run with that same recklessness.
Kid reminds me of the hulk in the second movie just looking for things to run into just smash through it.

He's not a power back, he's a speed guy that plays with reckless abandon. He can create power through his violent burst but that's not going to work in college. He's raw and has tons of talent but doesn't have the tools needed to be a bell cow and probably never will. Still a dynamic play maker and any team would be happy to take him.

Would love to see him as a Gator but the guy looks like he is destined to be scUm.

He's 5'11" 207. At the same point last year Gurley was 195 and Yeldon was 205 and they seemed to run with power this year. He runs with very good lean through the line, has great leg drive and above average balance. I guess if you're only calling someone like Henry a power back then fine, but he's far more of one than most others in the top 15.
I'm also not sure why you don't think it'll work in college. If you question him you really have to question our other 2 commits, a 215# (supposedly) back that hardly broke tackles in peewee football and lacks speed and a bowling ball that didn't run up the middle much.
