No wonder he chose to leave early.

I respect Elam's play and I realize he's off mentally, but he could have wished his friend and HS alum luck without taking a shot at another player. He definitely has some growing to do.

I winder if this is the sentiment carried by other players. Driskel needs to be the leader of the team next year and this doesn't help.

It's not. At least not the majority. Every team has their divisions of who they think should play at every spot, but luckily they don't make those decisions.

Good thing is, the new receivers coming in will only know JD and they are the ones that need to get comfortable with him. If the current receivers want to hold a grudge they will just be hurting themselves as there will finally be other WRs to replace them on the field. Brissett will not win a freaking Heisman either...I hope he drastically improves, but not a Heisman. Cam was an anomaly.

This shouldn't be a problem next year. It's hard to support someone who isn't there.

Or, Driskel could just kick Elam's azz before he heads out the door.

Philadelphia Eagles player Evan Mathis showed his disdain this week for the IRS by peeing on an IRS.

Glad he's leaving after watching his antics in the Sugar Bowl and now reading this. He's not a team player and should have been a Semi.

I doubt Elam has grown up too much from the good ol' recruiting fiasco. Maybe he's just down for the cause and wants to support his homeboy. Plus, didn't they go to school together, and didn't his brother travel with JB on visits recently? Thinking he's a bit biased. All that said, hope JB does well and can put together a couple great seasons.

Wow, I hope that wasn't the real Elam. I mean wow! Muschamp has a lot of work to do with disciplin if that was the real Elam. With that said, you guys just don't understand when it comes to the black qb.
African American's feel that there were so many years that the black qb was to "dumb" to play the position. Not smart enough to make it. They wanted you to be a WR, TE, or RB. Basically anything but play qb. I'm sure some of his teammates feel like he didn't get a chance to prove himself. They are probably really not saying he is going to win a heisman but they are hoping he's going to be pretty good.
No, I'm not trying to pull the race card. No I'm not trying to rough up any feathers. I'm just simply stating how we as African Americans grew up in America. We were taught at a very young age that this country will always look at your skin color as a negative. Therefore, you have to work harder than anybody else just to be given a chance to prove yourself. This type of teaching has been taught from generation to generation throughout the African American community. I think back to the Louisville game and I know that is one reason Charlie Strong/Bridgewater and co. were ready for war. They wanted to prove themselves. They had a major chip on their shoulders because of their skin color alone.
With that said, I can see how Elam who is not only a close friend of Brissett but also African American would feel sorry for him and say those things. I know..I know...it is a pleasure to play for a D1 school and an honor to play for the Gators. No, I'm not trying to make an excuse but more or less trying to educate people on GSMB that have no idea what it "probably" meant to the other black players on the team when Brissett was given a "fair" shot. Nothing more and nothing less.

Unfortunately, I had heard there were many players upset about perceived favoritism being shown.
Elam was probably just deceived by Gaturgirl or whatever her name is.

Yeah, he's probably doesn't know nearly as much about football or about which QB outperformed the other as the chuckleheads on GSMB.
It's amazing the lengths that some of you will go to protect Mr. 114.
