If we don't get another player from California, it will be too soon. California 5 star = 3 star.
I kept waiting for the time that those "crushing scholarship limitations" would finally affect South Cal.

He keeps a job for the next two years. There's no way they get a decent coach to come to a team with a 30 scholly penalty.

Seriously? USC sucked this year and with a class of only 12 last year and only 13 this year, give the program another 2 years........

I didn't word that well. I meant I spent the last three years waiting for their penalty.
Besides, they had enough talent to compete, just not enough coaching this year. I suspect they have two losing seasons to come.

Ah, sorry. Might just be poor reading comprehension by me??
Either way, I heard an interview with the 247 guy who covers USC football and he basically said Pat Haden is keeping Lane while they are under the sanctions. As soon as they can recruit a full class again, Lame is out in favor of a real coach.

I think that's probably correct. Kiffy CAN recruit. He may have even been able to survive the next two years if he had a good year this year. I think the entire South Cal set understands that he sucks now but there is little they can do.

Re: Lane Kiffen, what a prince!
Kiffen can recruit, but has had to live with the wash out of Carroll's transgressions and the Reggie Bush fiasco, as well as his own disingenuous mindset. The NCAA sanctions have hurt them deeply and should with all the disclosed violations they prospered from.
USC has a loaded talent base surrounding them, but desperately needs a coach of quality and character to climb back up the mountain. Kiffen isn't the guy.

Yes, totally agree, but he is getting what he deserves. Never forget that there was a recruiting coordinator there at that time under Carroll. His name was Lane kiffen. Karma baby.
And not to forget that Dumbazz Orgeron. He is getting his due as well.

Well, don't forget that Kiffen was there with Carrol for a time. Also, Lame was only at Tennessee for 1 year, but based on the character of the kids he recruited there, UT was headed for the probation heap in no time. Face, Kiffen is always surrounded by people of questionable character and he is always, himself, making some really questionable character moves.

Re: Lane Kiffen, what a prince!
Only when USC, the University, fires Kiffen can they become a true
institute of "hire learning". "China-shop-bull" Kiffen has been a
factory of agitation - a low-down Trojan vibrator. Quite a replacement
battery for the screws of Pete Carrol.
To get Kiffen, USC stole UT's 1 year coach, causing the brush-fire hire
of Dooley, whereby USC caused UT to vacate many games in the future.
Awhile back the NCAA smelled something rank wafting from USC; so
the NCAA 'unranked' them. The NCAA found similar pervasive U
attitude in USC football, basketball, and women's tennis. The USC
W-tennis team vacated all wins from 2006 to 2009. Duh.
After all these sanctions for dishonesty, the U showed it's higher
learning debility by sending its AD Mike Garret on a nationwide
alumni speaking tour : where he told USC boosters: "All I got from
reading the NCAA rulings was a lot of jealousy and envy from folks
who all wish they were Trojans.(So, he's putting out lubricant too.)
All of this shows The University of Southern California isn't smart
enough to recall the wise adage : "The bunko stops here."

Sadly, yes it is MOM. Same story, different day / different player. Between Kiffy, Satan and Tubberville, it's becoming a MOM story far too often. When will the schools step up to the plate and stop this crap (like Machen did).
