Re: Coach Mike Westhoff: Tim Tebow’s role a mess, distraction
Westhoff basically states he hated the ways Sparano and Ryan
failed to use Tebow's unique skills, for special added contribution
to the Jets offense.
The drift of his disgust was with the deceitfulness of Sparano/Ryan
in being fakes with the press, played "immature-pretend" that those
two had "secret weapon" plans for Tebow-use. Then Westhoff, who
may have believed special Tebow-plays would validly work, got
ticked because they never practiced any such plays. Why else would
he be frustrated, if he thought it was an impossibility ?
He also indicates he did not like the abuse of Tebow's trust, stating
that Tim was thusly lied to from the start. He protested that punter
protector was suppose to be maybe 1% of Tim's play and "they" made
it his only duty.
Sounds like he's glad to be away from that crew in N.Y. even if he
had to retire to do it. Hope he gets hired if he wants.

Jets are a train wreck an I wouldn't wanna be any where near that hell hole.
Let Rex and Dirty Sanchez have fun while they still have a job both are coming to a end very soon

Well "#1" we can expect a fumble when Sanchez comes to an end.

Not sure if this falls under the heading of "Duh! It's not like we didn't know that." Or, "Why does a vol continue to troll on the GSMB when he's proved himself irrelevant?"

The revealing thing to me is that a Special Teams Coach doesn't know what the plan is. That shows how messed up the Jets are right now. They made a big mistake not firing Ryan.

The people of Tennessee have a storied history of actively resisting injustice. We have never let Manning bashing by a subset of bitter jealous rival fans affect our opinion of Tim Tebow. The man has been victimized by the NFL establishment and media. He deserves a real chance to make his mark.

As much as I think Jerry Jones doesn't know how to run a Football team he knew to fire the other Ryan who never had but 1 Top 10 Defense in his coaching career. I bet the Bills and dolphins in the next few years will pass the Jets.

Damn Alvin. That may be about the smartest thing you've ever said on this board.

While no one will say this, but I honestly believe the Jets felt like Sanchez was going to get off to a good start. With him playing well and the team winning, incorporating Tebow would not cause problems. Once everyone saw how much Sanchez was honking bo-bo, any playing time for Tebow was going to ignite an even bigger controversy with the team and split it even more than it was.
Tim was kind of a victim of circumstance this year, and that circumstance was that the Jet suck!

Good point on the thought that the Ryan/Sparano brain-trust did
not account for Sanchez being anything but 'wonnerfull'. When
Sanchez filled their hands with utter fail, Tebow's "going in" could
not stand as a positive maneuver because Tim on some play would
ignite the O players and the crowd with a non-Sanchezzy hope....
... then if they bench Sanchez in favor of Tebow-success, Rex Ryan,
whose great NFL acumen he reflects with smoking-mirrors, could
be exposed as foolish for supporting Jets' signing Sanchez for so
much money.... so much $money, time, losses wasted on Sanchez,
when bargain QB Tebow could be molded-while-winning into a QB
more reliable for winning, fighting, inspiring team & fans, etc all
unavailable from Sanchezzibelle.
