Bostic blowing up Bridgewater

Postby Class of '78 » Thu Jan 03, 2013 2:35 pm

I defy anyone to tell me this was not every bit as explosive as Clowney's hit against Michigan. And, no, I don't think it was illegal.

At the time, with UF down 7-0, I thought it might help bring some spark to an otherwise flat defense, ala Major Wright's hit against Oklahoma in the 2008 championship. No go. :(

Yep, and get right up and celebrate, even though behind on the scoreboard. Thug Meyer trash.

So they flagged him for targeting above the shoulder? I don't think he led with his helmet, but I guess a case could be made that he hit him high.

It wasn't as explosive as Clowney's and Bostic lead with the crown of his helmet.

What else is there to defy?

I do think it actually pissed Bridgewater off even more.

His helmet never made contact with him. UL does not know how to operate a chin strap, see their running back 12 times for a few examples.

Yeah, looking at it again I paused it right at the point of impact and he definitely lowered his head into him. The hit itself was actually below the shoulders, so he would have avoided a flag altogether just by keeping his head up.

Why is this even being discussed? We lost the game in embarrassing fashion. I could care less about big hits.

I thought helmet to helmet was an automatic flag. Is that wrong?

If his head was up it would have been facemask to facemask, so no flag for that.

Yes, his coach for the past two years has nothing to do with him, right?

Good hit. Nowhere near Clowney's in terms of effectiveness or importance.

You're right, we should all be sitting in a dark room with razor blades cutting ourselves to help ease the pain of a football loss.

Bostic a thug? Are you kidding me? He's an educated, well-spoken, well-mannered young man who comes from a great (two) parent family. Playing football aggressively does not make one a thug. Great Gator.

Yes we were over the top with all of our celebrating on tackles despite being down 20+ throughout the game. But the score was simply 7-0 on Bostics hit.

And all this time I thought Queen was a female. I mean, a real female, not a queen. If you know what I mean, you know. . . . oh never mind
