In general lesser Bowls/ lesser teams play pre- January 1st.
At this point 2 SEC teams played:
20th Bowl game= Vandy, solid win over ACC NC State
23rd Bowl game= LSU earned a 1 pt. loss versus ACC Clemson.

From Jan 1st on: 12 bowl games 6 SEC teams.
