Hall of Famer Coach Ault Retires

Postby NVGator » Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:04 pm

I know this is a Gator Sports Forum, and I love my Gators, but it's also a place to discuss sports in general like a bar atmosphere.

I thought this would be worthy of a discussion for all, including those who don't see beyond the SEC. ;) I've had the pleasure of watching UNR games for a few years now (some better than others) and Coach Ault is the University. He will be missed.

The Godfather of the Pistol Offense, Hall of Famer Chris Ault, is retiring as the head football coach at Nevada. The 66-year-old coach steps down after 28 seasons as a head coach with a career record of 233-109-1 and has led the Pack to five consecutive winning seasons.

You probably have never heard of Torchy Clark. Too bad.

Come on law. Even you can find it in your heart to appreciate this coach. And no, it's not 1-AA.

I have. I played HS baseball with his kid Bo who was one of the best HS basketball players to ever come out of Orlando.

Very good article Coach9. Thanks for sharing.

Seems to me this offense is shredding up some college and NFL teams.

I knew I was mixing sports, just going with the small school theme of law's. I, too, played against Bo, although in the UCF gym, where a friend and I dismantled Bo and Stan Pietkiewicz. I think they took that game off fearing injury. All they did was attempt 3's. Bo was preparing for an NBA tryout.

Darryl Dawkins, Austin Rivers, and Chandler Parsons came out of O'town, so Bo is in good company. As is his father, I am sure.

Attempting 3’s was pretty much what Bo was known for. Lot’s and lot’s of ‘em.

As you no doubt know, Clark, Dawkins and Ptietkiewicz all played HS around the same time in Orlando and had some pretty fantastic games against each other. I’m friends with Don Kuhl who was another great player from those days.
