Yea Boynton is in a slump, and Murphy is right behind him, maybe they were getting the big head, I didn't see the defense intensity like in some other games. We went in worrying about one player and they all played well

1. Gators don't know how to use what they've got.
2. And keep trying to use what they don't got.

Murph mad a good drive down the lane and then missed the layup. He was not the only one. Murph gets shots if the ball is moving. When guys just dribble the ball and drive it to the bucket without passing or dribble up and jack up the first three they can get off, he isn't going to put up many shots.

We have two starters (stars) Boynton and Young who are seriously under performing. Unless these guys step up their game, I don't see us going very far this year.Rosario? is also too up and down, we need consistency from him as a Senior.

Re: murphy needs to shoot more!
Our main problem offensively is a flawed strategy in terms of shot production. Two perimeter oriented Guards should not be leading the team in shots per game, but yet Boynton and Rosario do. A perimeter oriented Guard will almost always have the worst shooting percentages because not only are they taking a higher frequency of shots further from the basket but they have to deal with taller players having a greater impact on contesting their shots. Thus, creating a lower shooting percentage. Furthermore, these kinds of players don't get to the foul line nearly enough. Another flaw in offensive strategy.
We would be much more efficient feeding Murphy and Young more often in the paint. But, better yet, we would show an even greater improvement if our Guards became more aggressive and attacked the rim relentlessly instead of passing it around the three point line and taking a bevy of low percentage outside shots. Get to the rim and the result will be a higher shooting percentage and a dramatic improvement on free throw attempts.
It's up to Boynton and Rosario to change their strategy on how they attack a defense if we're going to see this offense generate the output it's truly capable of.

Young is not under performing, he is not given the ball enough. In the first half of the KS game he was barely given the ball. In the second half when they did feed him, he was very productive.

The game is more than just scoring. If a big man isn't getting the ball enough, he can go get it (rebound). Young has the talent and body to dominate and he doesn't, at least half the problem is his attitude.
