Saw an ESPN documentary on Clarrett a while back (since his move to the UFL). I have to admit, I'm convinced he's cleaned up his act.
I'm not big on second chances, forgiveness, etc. but he does appear to be completely humble and wholeheartedly passionate about his family and sobriety at this stage in his life. For that, I can wish him the best.

Because the ACC just doesn't prepare you.

Of course you made more money is college Mo, you were a late 3rd round pick when everyone in football and anyone who knows anything about it knew you could not play in the NFL. Only one guy in the entire league thought you could play and he drafted you. Otherwise your signing bonus as an undrafted FA would have been a Ham sandwich and a bag of chips rather than the 200 bucks you got for being selected at all.

This story can't be true. If it were true it would suggest that POSU cheats and we all know that they would never cheat and the NCAA would never look the other way.

Re: Maurice Clarett - I made more money in college
The NCAA surely interviewed this guy &/or friends and family.
Tell me at least they tried. I bet his story would have been far
more diluted than his post-prison cleared-soul postulating.
Once a guy is caught unto his realized dead-end. He finds new
adventure in doing the "hang-gliding" of confessions to dazzle.
They expand into the red-carpet of reward of "I am finally totally
honest with you all." [applause,applause,applause]
Hey, reporters give me what he said only to back up the truth you
found investigating what he said. You tell me that you verified
simultaneous ownership of a Cadillac & a Lexus while he was in
college .... and show me that wasn't financed by his drug dealing or
other "crime-does-not-pay activities".
The real question to ask him = Does the fame/attention you get
now confessing replace well enuf that football fame you once had ?

No. And neither does the money.

IDK, isn't it more revealing when a criminal has truly "seen" that
his past evil behavior is so shame-worthy that they want to hush
about it and concentrate on replacing it with total non-faulty
actions. They're way too focused being renewed to wallow in
descriptions of deeds they want to eradicate from their lives & living.
Shouldn't these media bloodhounds be showing celebritory interest
in the new good Maurice not the badness he earlier expressed ?

I'm not so sure. I think his past is a relevant component of the story. Otherwise there is no story.
