Not surprised. We saw this brewing for months.

Gator or Gatorbait. They make their choice. We won't have room for everyone we want. We are already at that point. It's good to be the next Kings of college football.

From what I've heard elsewhere, it seems relatively mutual. Not sure if I agree with the idea of taking a SC kid over a FL kid, but I'll trust the coaches on this one. Powell obviously didn't kind the idea of having to compete with him, so that has to say something.

Since the coaches go after guys like the one in my sig, I trust their evaluation on linebackers.

We had four commitments until Powell dropped out.

Any high school player that gives as his reason that there are too many guys at his position coming in and he doesn't want to Compete against that many is, well, what can I say?

Since he doesn't want to earn anything, he'll fit in nicely with Kiffin at USC.

Maybe he can wear the place kickers jersey so he can see the field his freshman year. Then again, that USC D is really scary getting lit up every game

The great ones have no concern whatsoever over competition.
Powell is concerned about competition.

Well since some players move from their HS position to a different one in college we should trust the coaches to recruit and use players best.
I agree that anybody who does not wish to earn their spot should go somewhere else. Every player must not only earn their spot, but perform to keep it.

The kid is going to go play hundreds of miles from home, when he could compete for a job, maybe win, and have momma see him dress out every weekend. It's his loss, not UF's.

Re: Four-star LB decommits from UF
at "WDWHA" but it is true that he will either be a Gator or he'll be Gator Bait. But he is making a huge mistake to de-commit because of the flipped South Carolina linebacker commit Matt Rolin as MR is coming off a torn ACL (i think) injury and may not start/play in 2013.
He may still commit to UF but I'd rather get a player for the offense.

Rolin will likely redshirt next year (torn ACL), leaving McMillan and Hearns coming in and looking for early PT. Trey Johnson is still a possibility if Powell does not reconsider. I believe the coaches wanted to bring in 4 LBs this class which is why they were still pursuing Rolin and Johnson. I like Powell and hope he reconsiders and chooses to be a Gator, but I don't like the waffling.
