UF's Next Big Opponent Arizona:ESPN 8pm.
High-respect opponent Arizona plays Clemson, tonight at 8pm, ESPN.
UF plays Arizona in Tucson next Sat. Dec.15.
Zona is 6-0 pre-Clemson. Scout'em out.
On dry stats, this one looks like UF vs. FSU ?

Yeah, and since we last played (FSU-BLOWOUT !) this past Weds,
we get a 9-10 day practice window and healing time for nagging
injuries (Murphy's hip-pointer, etc.). WE will have to be ready for
their home environ-mental pollution.
... and wouldn't it be great to "handle" them by 10+ points. That
would make the "rankers" take notice.
>> P.S. > UF ranked 6 ...... Zona ranked 8.

We could easily win by 10+............ if we keep of the defensive intensity and play smart with the ball (limit turnovers). Zona had 27 turnovers against So. Miss - if we can force 18-20 on them we should win handily. They haven't seen the likes of the D we'll throw at them (they average over 80 points per game) and we give up less than 50 per game. I think Zona scores in the upper 50s, maybe 60. We get 70-73.

Re: UF's Next Big Opponent Arizona:ESPN 8pm.
I hope so "GatorBart". Arizona hasn't played opponents as tough as
we have, so they're ave 81.5/game.
"Zona's got one of those 7' European freshmen , 255 lb to deal with
6'9" 249 lb Young (Jr) and 6'10" 235 lb (Fr) vs. Murphy (Sr) 6'10" 238 lbs.
'Zona ave FG%/G = .513 ------ UF ave FG%/G .473
Against better teams UF defense have 57 steals--- 'Zona 49
UF 3-pt% = .351 while "Zona's 3-pt% = .417...it's UF..27 v 26 blocks
Rebounds UF = 38.7 v 36.ave/g
Win-margin UF = 25.3 'Zona 21.8
Therefore, gotta watch "at-home" advantage and Gator stars
have gotta out-duel adversary. Young's gotta go strong to basket
and get their talls into foul trouble. Murphy's got to exert in & score
from in & out. Rosario's got to stay under control, not shoot if not hot.
Great if Frazier sinks high % 3-pts. Boynton needs to be "on" for 18= pts.
It could be a tournament type game for either's pride. Go Gators.
It was fun to notice there's a Billy Donovan player on our team - hope
he's had good coaching in his younger days.
we have, so they're ave 81.5/game.

Thanks for the concise stats post. I like our chances in this game. I will be at Gainesville House of Beer watching this one and enjoying some "free" beer.

Arizona wins over Clemson 66-54.
Not an overwhelming victory by any stretch of the imagination.
Arizona was tied with Clemson with 7 minutes to go. This is the same Clemson team who lost to Purdue, who has lost to Bucknell and Eastern Michigan. Ouch.

Zona won't be that easy. Don't forget both coaches are very familiar with each other. Zona is playing well and at home.
Closer than the experts think.

This will be a test as a road game, but one we can overcome. Zona is better than they showed this evening but not as good as Florida at this point in the season.

Didn't watch much of the AZ/clem game. I just think our back court will be too much to handle in the end and AZ turns it over alot..not good for them.

Arizona's offense has cooled down considerably the last few games since they've been playing some better defenses. Until I see it happen, I don't think there's a team out there other than Indiana, Duke, or Louisville that could score on us.

I would love to play any of those teams to see what we could do defensively; especially Indiana as I have a Indiana alum co-worker who says they are unstoppable. I guess we could only hope to play them in March (or early April).

Not true, I predict a Fla win everytime I am sober.
