I know it's early, but...
Just humor me....
Where do you think we'll be ranked in the preseason for 2013?
I think we'll be #2 behind Bama. I hope so because #1 is a bad place to be at first.
What say you?

I'm sure ND and Ohio State will be getting more love than they deserve.

It's early for sure on this. I am sure with our work this year and players returning we will be respected but its not going to matter. If they win we'll be where we need to and hopefully Pasadena.
Rocky top you'll always be...LAST in the SEC.....Good ole' Rocky Not.....Gators scored a big T.D.

Top 10 somewhere. But, with the middle of the defense potentially gutted, we may be looking at a year where we take 1 step back before going 2 steps forward.
DT Hunter
DT Floyd (likely)
ILB Bostic
S Evans
S Elam (possibly)
potentially all gone, those leave HUGE holes in the middle of the defense.

Alabama loses more people but they'll probably be ranked No. 1 based on reputation.
Florida will be No. 2.

The preseason polls impact the final polls. Had we been ranked preseason ahead of Oregon, we would be ahead of them in all the polls now.

You fail to mention RoPo will be back and several JUCO DTs will easily fill Hunter's role. If Elam comes back this team will be better. The offense will find it's way in the off-season and add several key players on the line and in the backfield as well. Hammond is the only receiver that will be missed, but Pattton will be back as well as adding Fulwood, whose size and abilities are likely to get him on the field early. I think Matt Jones will see more playing time than he has in the bowl game to show what he can do when it really matters. Add Kelvin Taylor and Adam Lane in the mix and this group of running backs will be hard to stop. So the only spot that there may be some kind of drop off is at safety in Evans' spot, but I assume you don't pay attention to recruiting as Champ has been stacking the defense, most notably the secondary. In summary, Floyd will be missed because he is so disruptive, but there are several able bodies that will benefit from the great play by the young DE's on the roster. The linebackers will be just fine, Morrison, Jenkins, RopPo, Kitchens, Ball, Taylor... find me a better group in the SEC/country, good luck. The secondary is in great shape if Elam is back, which going off of what he said I would assume he is coming back. Riggs will be back in play, Purifoy, Roberson, Poole, Gorman, Watkins, Harris, and VH3. Once again, good luck finding a better secondary. I fail to see where next years team is worse, feel free to enlighten me.

Evans and Bostic are definitely gone as they are seniors. Hunter is a red-shirt senior, so he's probably gone, too. Floyd and Elam are true juniors, but they're probably gone.
