There is no way Oregon deserves to be ranked higher than us. Who did they beat to deserve it? The only other ranked teams they played were from their conference, which was overrated as a whole. The Stanford game was the only game they played in where the opposing defense had a pulse, and we all know how that turned out for them.

Too bad we can't get a crack at them in the Sugar.

Yep there resume is as bad as Georgia's looking at it with no mention of what team it is.

People trying to ensure that the computers that love or SOS don't somehow bump us into the title game.

They want to put Oregon up against K-State. I think they also want Oklahoma vs UF as that is a good match-up and sexier than UF vs Louisville or N Illi. The Orange Bowl will be FSU vs L-Ville in the We don't care BCS bowl.

This is the link to watch: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings/bcs

It appears that Jerry Palm is updating it as the polls come out (he has the Coaches and Sagarin ratings), and estimating on the ones that aren't out yet.

All we have to do is look at NIU (and to a lesser degree, Boise St.). If NIU makes it to 16, we play Louisville. Otherwise, it's Oklahoma.

Interesting he is saying NI passes Michigan but UCLA stays in front of them to keep them at 17 and out of the BCS.

Congratulations to Lame Kiffin and USCw. They are ranked below Vandy.

What is the Billingsley poll and why are we ranked 6th there and 2nd everywhere else?

It really doesn't matter that much. There are 6 computer polls, and the BCS drops the one best and one worst ranking.

The remaining four are assigned points based on the ranking (25 for first, 24 for second, etc.). Those points are totalled and divided by 100 for the overall computer ranking of the BCS.

Assuming his projections are correct, then yes.

But he's projecting data on one human poll and four computer polls... vs. having data for one human poll and two computer polls. It seems there is still plenty of room for error.

The coaches have N. Illinois at No. 16. Computers had NIU 23rd last week. NIU in BCS top 16 = UF vs Louisville in Sugar. If not, UF-Okla.

No chance for Boys-E to slip into the top 16 ahead of NIU?

Boise State didn't move in the Coaches poll, and I don't think they can make up enough ground in the computers to get to 16.

Forgive my addition "Lunarthick", but that 100 divisor comes
from the total # of nerds who understand that "putercalc".

OU probly will be pitted against us because selection committee
knows they'll automatically get real CFB fans watching and they're
hoping that pre-game hyped ads on the "revenge storyline" will
attract some Lifetime channel viewers. :embarrassed:

My understanding is that it's a poll of professional gamblers predicting their most steady moneymakers and reflect who they want to see in the big games.

He can't escape Vandy. He was second fiddle in the state. Vandy dominance continues no matter where he goes.
