Can Matt Patchan apply for another hardship year?
What a bad break that Matt can't even get in one game his Senor year. Seems like the hardship rule was designed for hard luck players like Matt. Even with his frailness I think he would be a great addition to our O-Line.

Stop.
He's a Gator who's sacrificed too much trying to get on the field in that uni to cheap shot him.

Good statement. I know Matt did some foolish teenage stuff but he is a full grown man now and has worked very hard to get back, just didn't work out.

what did he do? dodge bullets and get hurt again? If he comes back he better sacrifice the best animal in every herd in Florida in order to thank whatever god he kneels to for allowing such. And bubble wrap himself till fall.

The guys a Gator. Lord knows he may miss three games because he got a paper cut while turning the page of a textbook but you can't say he didn't give his all. He'll wear the scars on his body for the rest of his life as evidence of his sacrifice of blood, sweat and tears for the program. Sucks it didn't work out for him but he's a Gator through and through. Let's show some class.

I thought he was a super redshirt junior with one more year of eligibility?
Edit: per gator zone, he is a redshirt junior. Whether our not he comes back, who knows?

He played in '07. Everytime I count my fingers to this year it comes up 6. How in the hell does that compute with him being a Jr? Two medicals? Is that some kind of record or something?

You generally get 5 year to play 4 and with a medical red shirt you can get six. Last year Patchan, Ball and a couple other players got additional years added.

Anyhow, considering that we will have Garcia, Moore, possibly Brown, and Patchan next year, our O-line is going to look a whole lot different. The difference between Atlanta and watching IMO. Not to mention Thurman and a number of other young guys who haven't played much/have redshirted. I think we're on the right track here.

Oline should be better, but the difference between being in Atlanta and watching it is TOs. Even with terrible OL play in that game we still dominated it.

Many of those turnovers don't occur if Driskel wasn't running for his life on almost every play, especially in the red zone. Bringing in some depth at tackle (Moore, Garcia, possibly Brown) will help shore up our O-line against guys like Jones who single-handedly wrecked this season.

I have always pulled for this kid. I liked him out of Seffner and still hope he has a big impact and gets to run out of the tunnel on Senior Day next Fall. He's a Gator...'nuff said.
