2013 Team
I am assuming the 2013 Gator Team will be ranked in the Top 5 or possibly the Top 3.
We will be watched very carefully.
The pressure will be on. Sometimes Teams/Coaches/Players do not handle that pressure very well.
How do you think this plays out next year for us?

Re: 2013 Team
depends on who returns from this team. If all the juniors return on defense then we could be top 2-3. We lose Elam, Floyd, and Easley and we will still probably be a top 10 team but im thinking more of around #6-8.
I know everyone is down on Meyer but what he said before i believe still holds true to this day. He compared the middle of the defense to baseball that you have to be strong up the middle or you will fail. Depending on those juniors we could be replacing our DT's (i know Easley is more of a DE now but he plays both) our MLB and our SS. That is a lot of experience leaving the middle of the defense.

I think this team will be fine come next year. One thing I like is how focused this team was and also, how there wasn't any off the field distractions. First time in a LONG time we've went a full season w/o being in the police blotter.
As far as on the field, I think we'll miss Floyd and Elam (I think they're good as gone), but we've basically played next years team THIS year. A lot of pieces that we didn't expect to contribute this season did and that means more depth come next season.

Right now, I think it depends on Easley and Reed, and if the DT's look good in the Spring game. I hope we add one more DT this rercruiting cycle.
I think we will be ranked in the top 10. The 2012 Gator Football Team is really an overachieving bunch of guys. For UF to have the defense they have without a 'true' speed rusher at DE is amazing.

Re: 2013 Team
This year the Gators proved how ridiculous the preseason polls are and the same thing occured a few years back when Auburn wasn't in the polls at the start of the year and won the NC. Win and it takes care of everything. I agree that this team over achieved and the future looks very bright when comparing their accomplishments to the level of talent they played against and defeated. We self imploded against UGA.

I'm thinking that recruiting should be a bit easier. Playing for a true power house team with a coach that gets it, or worrying about the "eye" test coach.
It's Great to be a Florida GATOR!

Re: 2013 Team
I think it all comes down to the coaching staff as to whether this team implodes with increased expectations. I'm assuming that this staff will be able to keep the players focused on the task at hand rather than the expectations involved. I'm more worried about who is staying and who is going after this year before I worry about the ranking. But I'd expect Top 5 if we can get the majority of the defense back.

Lets hope our coaching staff stays in-tact. There are a lot of openings out there.

Media pinheads will have some combo of ND, Bammer, and pOSU in the top 3. Also, the Semenholes will be in the top ten since they are back.

Q. Dunbar is a sophomore ... that's an upside.

And don't forget..."it's their time!"
I wonder what they will do with all of those bumper stickers declaring them the "state champs"???
