Florida vs. Georgetown could resume

Postby Slevin » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:44 pm

This is from Tom Goldkamp over at 247sports:

"per Billy Donovan. Florida has reached out to Georgetown about possibly finishing it. There are a few open dates on the schedules for both teams that could work. Game would likely resume from half in Jacksonville, and Florida could help pay for Georgetown's travel. Nothing definite yet, Florida is still waiting to hear back from Georgetown."

Bad idea. And if they do "finish" it, they should just play an entire game.

I like Matthew's idea btw....

I would rather they just play an entire game too. Maybe invite local military for a free game.

Not going to happen. Too much at stake for both teams moving forward to reschedule a tune up game.

Agreed. they should definitely start from scratch. Wouldn't be fair to give either team a start in the point column. But I'd like to see the Gators get a W over Georgetown for the RPI

They should play in an ice rink while wearing scuba flippers.

Agree with others--play an entire game. If I'm Georgetown and I'm going to the take the time and expense of playing again, I'm not going to do it for half a game-one in which I am behind in. Make it a start from scratch full game!

Should have just gone to a nearby local gym on the base and finished it that night. I don't see this game finishing now, a second half or complete do-over.

I don't know why people are saying it won't happen especially with UF making all the moves to make it happen. It could very well happen.

If it were anything other than basketball, I'd agree. A win or loss is not going to define the season.
