Think about this scenario for a second...

Postby Slevin » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:32 pm

UF vs.... UGA for the national championship.

Now, obviously this is a 1 in a million chance but to have that rivalry game for a NC, and a chance to spoil their shot at winning their first title in 30 something years? They basically ruined another good UF season and how sweet it would be to throw it right back at them

Could happen. Georgia beats GT and Bama and we beat FSU and ND loses and Stanford beats UCLA keeping Oregon out of their conference championship game.

That is great, even just to imagine. Talking heads are already hating the idea of an SEC team being in the big game.

I think you may be missing the obvious....If Alabama wins the SEC championship game, ND loses to USC, and the Gators beat FSU then we are the top rated 1-loss team after Bama. Could very realistically happen: Alabama-Florida for the NC

OR ... Georgia wins the SEC championship game and everything else you said happens and Georgia-Florida for the NC like the OP suggested ...

A few days ago, I got an e-mail from a Dawg that suggested this. I thought he was smoking the bong. Then the Quack-attack was stifled and the K-State Wildcats were declawed. Now it is, unbelievably, entirely possible.

For UF vs Puppies:
  1. We must beat the Clowns. There is no if, and, or but about this
  2. Lame Kitten and his Trojans must beat ND
  3. The Puppies must beat GT
  4. Forget about Nick Satan this coming weekend, his Tide will demolish the toothless Tigers
  5. The Puppies must beat Bama

For UF vs Nick Satan and the Tide
  1. See point 1 above
  2. See point 2 above
  3. It doesn't much matter what UGA does with GT
  4. The Tide must roll the Puppies

And for UF vs the Irish
  1. See point 1 above
  2. The Irish must beat Lame Kitten
  3. GT must find a way to beat the Pups
  4. UGA must beat Bama

Thank you. Apparently it wasn't as obvious as leaton thinks

Although I'm a little upset at Driskel giving up the safety.

The thought of playing them and potentially losing the NC makes me want to vomit. I'd prefer to play someone else.

I'd really prefer Bama beat the ever living :kiffin: out of them!

What I would like to see happen would be for the BCS gurus to somehow put us in the BCS Championship game, figuring the SEC would lose its 6-year streak of winning the national championship, then for us to confound the experts once again and win the thing.

The obvious problem with that scenario is, do you think anyone wants to see a repeat of possibly one of the worst played football games this year? What were there, something like 9 turnovers, 25 penalties and a bunch of punting? I think the voters will do everything in their power to prevent a UF - UGA replay.

If UF wins this week, they will have beaten FOUR top 10 teams. How could they possibly be kept out if ND loses?

If Florida and Georgia would play each other, it would be the lowest rated BCS championship game ever.

The nation would not be interested in that game at all.

How much will ratings matter 5 years from now? I could care less when a crystal ball is added to the trophy case
