For what will it profit a SEC Team....
It must be unprecedented that one Conference has members occupying the positions of 4 - 9 in the Top Ten.
The BCS
4 Alabama 9-1
5 Georgia 9-1
6 Florida 9-1
7 LSU 8-2
8 Texas A&M 8-2
9 South Carolina 8-2
Amazing,
Still it looks like Johnny Football has torpedoed the SEC. Unless two teams of three (Kansas State, Oregon or Notre Dame) stumble in the next few weeks the SEC will be locked out of the BCS Championship. This would be a travesty because any of the 6 SEC teams would take down Kansas State, Oregon or Notre Dame.
"For what will it profit a SEC team if it gains high ranking in the BCS but loses its chance to play in the BCS Championship game."

I don't ever remember a conference dominating the Top 10 so completely. It is remarkable.
There's still ample opportunity for the non-SEC teams to stumble in the games ahead. I still believe that an SEC team will play for the MNC thanks to the computers and pollsters who have yet to influence the final polls for a significant game.

I was looking over that this morning. It makes a statement for this conference. It should make a loud enough statement to warrant consideration if any one of those teams falters in any way (plays a weaker opponent and struggles, plays sloppy, etc.). In other words, forget wins and losses, it should be about the two best teams for college football. We know that won't happen because not all undefeated or one loss teams are graded equally.

I hope you're right and that Taliban formula for BCS rankings awards an SEC school for playing in the toughest damn conference in the Universe of Sports.
I still can't believe the SEC could be black balled out of the BCS Championship.

Five posts into a thread and this word comes back up in one of your comments as a description of someone or something. Please get a dictionary and look up the definition before making a flippant statement next time.

ND will lose the last game of the season against USCw but I don't see Oregon losing.
Texas may knock off K State but I wouldn't bet on it.

If the cost of not having to hear about how wonderful Alabama is the ending of the SEC's streak then I'm cool with that.

All of this **** because the storied legendary Alabama defense and the so called genius of Nick Saban could not stop the Tebow like performance of the new phenomena of college football, Johnny Football.
I can't remember one player in one game knocking down this many number of NCAA dominoes.

There is unquestionably a faction of fans in the US who have "SEC fatigue." Similar to the Yankees, Tebow, et al, these fans pull for the downfall of the dominant. Whether it's right or not, they just want to see different teams in the mix.
Who here wants to see Bama find a way back to the BCSCG game to restore honor to the SEC?

Does your hatred of the Tide and Dawgs transcend the spectacle of watching and listening to the Notre Dame Frighting Irish back in the NC spotlight. Would you rather see the Oregon Ducks or Kansas State Wildcats holding the BCS trophy over a team from the Southeastern Conference?
