The news out today is that the Big East created a 12-team conference with Temple now part of it.

Isn't it time that the BCS drop the Big East from what most consider an Automatic Qualifying Conference for FBS? They haven't been relevant in years and are probably not much better than the Sun Belt Conference or some other minor conference.

They pretty much already have lost their status, at least when the playoff starts. The following article says that the conferences will be divided into the "Power 5" and the "Group of 5" and the Big East is in the latter group.

I can't argue there! I guess the thing about the ACC is that there are teams within that were in the top 10 consistently many years ago and could make a come back, while there is nothing in the Big East that brings excitement.
