Is National Championship easier to win than SEC?
It looks to me that the only way the SEC was not going to make it 7 in a row this year, was for the SEC to prevent it. Not just Alabama this past weekend, but Florida, Georgia, LSU, aTm and SCar all could have put up a decent fight, if not a win, against whoever comes out of the remaining 3 pretender/contenders.
Then I remebered that last year's National Champion wasn't able to win the SEC, even though they were from the conference.
SEC Champ > National Champ ?... something to kick around

Yes, it is. None of the undefeated teams left would be undefeated at the end of their SEC schedule, IMO.

The problem with that is the clowns can own it to. The whole ACC can claim it up to this point. I guess they all could.
I do agree and it depends on the season. I feel 4 to 5 SEC teams could legitimate go to the NC.

I guess we can ask KState or Oregon in January. Neither will have played an SEC team.

Saban only has 1 SEC Title with Bama in 5 years I think.

Great question, I believe any SEC fan would agree that it is, of course go north and west and they will say no way but they are all homers.

If you are #5 through #8, especially if you aren't at least a conference champion, you have ZERO business in a playoff.

There's no doubt about it. There are numerous marquee teams that play a relatively light schedule without conference championship or one that lacks competition. Over the last decade, more people are realizing that one-loss SEC teams are much better than the pigskin prima donas.

Nobody has proven they are the legit national champion without beating the sec champ. Oregon v. k st. would not be a real title game. It would be a reminder as to why we need the playoff system. Anybody that knows college football knows this. Otherwise, they just have not been paying attention.

Yep, 2 National Titles and 1 SEC title (this is his 6th year).

I think top SEC teams would stop the offensive fireworks of Oregon &
KSU. (Notre Dame is a joke). What is the real potential "setback threat"
is that Oregon vs KSU yields national viewer orgy scores of 56-48.....
.. and that 70% of the nation loves it.
Great defense will become the ugly stepsister. It could make our
conference teams' ratings tougher. The TV pharaohs will resist letting
defense on center-stage again.

Yes,
The results of past years speak for themself. Big 10 is the whipping boy of the SEC. Ohio is glad they are on probation this year. This way they will miss their butt kicking by the SEC. The one win they did have was with using starters that should never have played. School officals demanded they play for sake of the lame 10.
