Gators win "season opener" 84-35 Vs. Alabama St. B-ball
Gator's up 47-9 at the half... Wow! This bunch plays some stifling defense and really spreads the ball around on offense. Does anybody care?...

watching online, nice to see the young guys get in the game. Not much of a game, but will be watching the young guys in the second half. With Wisconsin coming up its nice to see everyone getting some playing time.

Boynton looked GREAT and made excellent decisions with the basketball, leading the team with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, on 8/10 shooting.
Overall, the Gators played good team basketball and smothered Alabama State defensively. I like this teams passion and hustle. Also, there seems to be good chemistry with this group.
Murphy, Rosario, and Young all scored in double figures.
Again, I have to say, Yeguette is the x-factor this season. He plays with a high motor going both ways, rebounds well, is very versatile defensively, has developed his game offensively, and has added some solid bulk. Only 3 points today, but 7 points, and 5 assists in very limited minutes.
I'm looking forward to an exciting match up with #23 Wisconsin on Wednesday!

Alabama State was no competition for the Gators. The biggest thing I noticed was Rosario needing to settle down as a starter. He made a lot of shots very early in the clock.
What's not to like about a top 10 team playing at home against an over-matched OC opponent. The Wiscy game will say a lot more about our physicality in the paint, the ability of our bench and if we deserve our ranking.

I agree about WY, dude is just a terrific defender and rebounder. They played incredible defense as a team and the freshmen looked solid again. Rosario played better but he needs to stay in his zone. Shooting quick 3s is not his bread and butter, he needs to drive to the basket and shoot those floaters.
