Florida has had six players taken in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft since Kevin O'Sullivan took over as coach in 2008.

Detroit is getting a good one at the 18th pick.

There was a bit of Gator Baseball history made the past few days.  Tonight was a statement from Faedo, who did not disappoint pitching uncharacteristically late in his last McKethan game, the third and deciding of the 2017 Super Regional.

The Tigers almost always go after power arms, especially in the first 3 rounds. They had Faedo in their book but felt he would be gone when they picked at 18. But with many position players selected early on I felt we had a chance, and he fell to 18.

Hope he develops into a number 2-3 starter for the team. He has the tools. And size. First round pitcher should be 6'3 + with power arm.

As a lifetime Tiger fan (1958) and UF grad (73) this is a win win! AND we beat wake.
