A great job by the Gators against Virginia tonight. It shows what they are capable of when they shelve the playground and keep their heads in the game. They played a pretty disciplined game tonight and the results showed it. A few, but not many, out of control drives.
Basketball only, please

They also got a great game from Leon, who played some inspired ball, along with another strong performance from Robinson. The guard play was excellent, even though Allen continues to be in a shooting funk. It was an impressive way for the Gators to move on to the Sweet Sixteen.

Guard play drives success in the Tourney. What team has a better group of guards than Florida? Combine that with a deep bench and stifling defense.
You have to put the basket in the cylinder. Our offense was very good against arguably the nation's best defensive team. We had the defense and transition offense in this game with the Cavaliers.
The offensive balance for Florida was also a significant factor. Thanks to Hayes, Gak and Stone we have enough of a paint presence to demand inside attention. The opposing team can't focus on only shutting down perimeter shots. Then add Robinson and Leon are hitting shots from the forward position and you'll see the mayhem we created last night for Virginia.
More in a Sweet 16 thread, but our best chance for beating Wiscy is defense, a blistering pace, the bench and using our offensive balance. That's why the Gators are a tough out for any team.
