I hope you all take the time to not only honor the men and women who gave all so that we might live in freedom, but, teach your children and grandchildren about the sacrifices that have been and continue to be made. Watch a WW II documentary with them and educate them on just how costly war is and why we must defend ourselves from those who would love nothing more than to see the collapse of this great nation.

I lost buddies on the battlefield and I left my innocence in the sands of the Middle East. I saw, firsthand, just how much Americans value freedom, when I witnessed the courage and bravery of those young men. They didn't hesitate to advance on the target and they fought with every American on their mind. I will honor them for the rest of my life and never let their gift go unappreciated.

Also, please remember the families of the fallen. They are the ones that carry the real burden and their sacrifice is seldom mentioned.

Exactly. One of my buddies was killed some years after I left the Army when we first went into Iraq.

Am I the only one bothered by companies wrapping themselves in the flag on days like Memorial Day? I swear, every time I see an auto dealership with 200 American flags posted out front I keep on driving.

Fake patriotism, or patriotism with a financial purpose, is the worst.

I don't really have a problem with that. Its the comments of some of the anti-military crowd you hear sometimes that really bothers me.

"Oh that's right, I had totally forgotten that we were 4-8 and Muschamp sucks. Thanks for the reminder, I will go back to being miserable and angry now."

I understand your point, but i'd rather they fly the flag than not.

Remember those that are not with us to celebrate another year.

Full devotional thank you veterans and actives for your bravery and
sacrifices. Thanks to families too.

Let's pray (& vote) that any wars that can be fought remotely, by
ship or air bombardment will be the foremost act so that fewest
ground individuals are damaged.

Give the enemy a valid "sample bombardment" (smart missiles and
drones). Then tell the populous to to rise up and eliminate radicals
or the next bombardment expands.

What has happened and continues to happen to our in-the-flesh
soldiers cannot be made up for. At least make their risk an
absolute last resort. = "Congressman we can either continue and
expand remote bombing or send your sons and daughters in."

Yo, fortunately, when I went to Korea as a Marine pfc, that truce was in effect. Lots of Gyrines didn't come back from that sh*thole..
